Mitzvah Tantz – Modzitz | Gesher feat. Moti Weiss | מצוה טאנץ – מודזיץ | גשר ומוטי ווייס

The Divrei Yisroel of Modzitz was not just a Rebbe. He was one of the towering composers of Chassidish music, with niggunim that were thoughtful, powerful, and clearly shaped.
During World War I, as he was forced to flee Europe, many of his handwritten compositions were lost. What remained survived through memory alone, preserved by family members and devoted chasidim who carried the melodies with them and refused to let them fade.
Rikud Hakozak is one of those surviving niggunim. Over the years, it became a beloved Mitzvah Tantz niggun within the Modzitz circles, a melody that naturally carried the energy and dignity of that moment.
Gesher, with its mission to keep original Chasidish music alive, is reviving this niggun together with Moti Weiss, presenting it with authenticity, depth, and the respect this legacy deserves.

"ריקוד הקוזאק" הוא ניגון ששרד דרך ארוכה ומפותלת עד לימים אלו.
הדמות שעומדת מאחוריו הוא הרבי ה'דברי ישראל' ממודז'יץ, הוא היה אדמו"ר נערץ, שהלחנים שפרצו מלבו הטהור העמידו אותו כאחד מגדולי המלחינים של המוזיקה החסידית, עם ניגונים מחושבים, עוצמתיים ובעלי מבנה ברור ומדויק.
במהלך מלחמת העולם הראשונה, כאשר נאלץ להימלט מאירופה, אבדו רבים מכתביו ויצירותיו המקוריות. מה שנותר שרד מכוח הזיכרון בלבד, ונשמר על ידי בני משפחה וחסידים מסורים שנשאו את המנגינות בליבם וסירבו לתת להן להיעלם, מעבירים אותן מדור לדור.
"ריקוד הקוזאק" הוא אחד מאותם ניגונים ששרדו. במשך השנים הוא הפך לניגון מצווה טאנץ אהוב בחוגי מודז'יץ, מנגינה הנושאת באופן טבעי את האנרגיה וההדר של אותו רגע מיוחד המתקיים ברגעי השיא של החתונה.
גשר, אשר חרט על דגלו לשמר ולהחיות את המוזיקה החסידית המקורית, ביחד עם מוטי וייס, מחיים את הניגון הזה מחדש, באותנטיות, בעומק ובכבוד הראוי למורשת זו.
